Presentation Guidelines

General Guidelines For Submission of Abstract

  • Registration is must for the convention for (oral/poster/video presentation) acceptance of abstract.
  • Abstracts must be original and should not have been published or presented any where in the past.
  • Only one presentation is accepted per person as chief presenter, however maximum of 3 co-authors can be listed in the submissions.
  • All the abstract submitted by students must be authorized by the Heads of their department.
  • All abstracts must be submitted through the online submission system accessed through the conference Abstracts submitted after deadline will not be considered for presentation.
  • The presenting author will be notified about the successful submission of their abstract by email once the submission is complete.
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited & the presenter will be disqualified if found guilty of plagiarism.
  • First, second & 5 consolation prizes will be given to the winners of various categories of oral, poster & video presentation.
  • Last date for abstract submission is 15th December, 2018.
  • One participant can present only one (poster/oral/video)
  • Who is eligible to present the following :
    • Poster & video presentation- PGs & Faculty
    • Oral presentation – only for 2nd & 3rd year PGs

Abstract Format


Language : English


Font Size : 12


Font Type : Times New Roman/Garamond


Spacing : Single line

Title : Should be as brief as possible and typed in sentence case (all letters in lowercase except the first letter of the first word of the title)


Authors : The presenting author should be listed first and up to 3 more authors can be included. The affiliation details of all authors ; department, institution/hospital, city/town, state (if relevant) and country should be included with the submission.


Abstract Text Word Limit : Not to be more than 250 words except title, authors and affiliation details etc.


Only structured abstract will be accepted as per following guidelines  


For Original Research (Oral)

  • Introduction
  • Aims
  • Methodology including study design
  • Results
  • Conclusions


For Case Reports (Oral/ E-Poster)

  • Introduction
  • Case Report
  • Clinical Significance


Scientific Reviews : (Oral/ E-Poster)

The abstract may not have strict criteria but the presenters must mention systematically about the proposed presentation.


Video Presentation

The abstract may not have strict criteria but presenters must include introduction & relevance in the profession.

Review Process

All submitted abstracts will be sent for blinded review by the Scientific Review Committee and only accepted abstract notification will be sent to the presenting author by email.

Presentation Guidelines

Oral Presentation

  • Presentation should be on Microsoft Powerpoint 2007
  • Presenters should strictly adhere to the allotted time and not exceed it to avoid negative marking.
  • Only one person will be presenter however upto 3 persons can be included as co-authors.
  • Maximum time- 6+2=8 minutes (presentation + Q & A)

Presentation should involve original research, case reports or scientific reviews  


E-Poster Presentation

  • The poster should be prepared in Landscape/Horizontal format with 4:3 ratio like normal slide in PPT presentation. It will be displayed using a projector and a screen.
  • It can be in PPT, JPG, JPEG or PNG image with minimum resolution of pictures’ with 600X600 DPI
  • The title fonts should be minimum 32 and body of minimum font size of 20.
  • Poster should be self-explanatory with minimum text and maximum illustrations.
  • The posters should not mention authors and affiliation details but need to mention the scientific poster code at the top right corner of the poster. The poster code for participants will be displayed on the website-
  • Presenters should strictly adhere to the allotted time and not exceed it to avoid negative marking.
  • Maximum 2 persons can present e-poster & will get certificate.
  • Maximum time- 2+1=3 minutes (presentation + Q & A)

  • A 2 minutes video on any of the following topics can be made with either voice-over or with subtitles. This will have equal weightage as that of paper/poster.
  • The participants are not required to present rather be available for any Q & A.
  • Maximum 3 persons can make one video & shall be given certificate.

Two-  Teaching/guiding pediatric dentists (only in English)
